After successful delivery and 3 years in service of the Portuguese Coastal Vessel Traffic System (multi million Euro contract), a strong sign is given by SIGNALIS, investing in Portugal in this highly technological market of Vessel Traffic Services, Port Management, Coastal Surveillance, Harbor Security, Critical Infrastructure / Site Surveillance, Air Surveillance and Land Border Surveillance.

During the inauguration ceremony, one of the two company’s managing directors Dr. Arnd Helmetag outlined the overall SIGNALIS strategy, boosted by the merging of two of world strongest companies of this market segment, the French SOFRELOG and the German ATLAS Maritime Security, both subsidiaries of the EADS / CASSIDIAN Holding.

Among our guests have been the President of IPTM Dr. João Carvalho, the Rear Admiral Gameiro Marques, who was representing the Portuguese Navy Vice Commander in Chief Admiral Carvalho de Abreu, the Representative of the Harbor of Sines Cmd. Carlos Oliveira and, from the political side, the inaugural commemoration was attended by representatives from a variety of governmental organizations, including the Ambassador of Germany in
Portugal Mr. Helmut Elfenkämper, and the executive director of German-Portuguese commerce and industry chamber Mr. Hans-Joachim Böhmer.

During the Inauguration Party the guests visited the Maritime Traffic Command and Control Center of Paço de Arcos which is the main operation Portuguese Coastal VTS center delivered, in budget and in time on the 21st of December 2007, by the Consortium of SIGNALIS, CASE, NSN/Siemens and Teixeira Duarte, where SIGNALIS has the role of the Consortium leader.
